Alpine view - Alpenblick - Schicht- und Drop-Swirl

Deutscher Text unten

OMG, time is running so fast. I can't believe I haven't written a blog post for such a long time. I changed my job in spring and since then I was really busy. I already run soapmaking classes since 2018 for Naturkosmetik-Werkstatt (next to my job as a business consultant) and now I work for Naturkosmetik-Werkstatt as business economist, also.

That brings my hobby and my profession together what really makes me happy. However, we have lot's to do and there is a little time for soapmaking but almost no time for blog posting. But today I took some time ;-)

The soap was made for the Soap Challenge Club for the August challenge that was designed to make soaps with layers and drop swirls on top and using a third design element for the advanced category: I chose shaping my layers and using an ombre technique, also.

I use the soap shapers that I got from the wonderful and lovely Belinda from loveyoursuds.com. I used paper cardboard and plastic before to make my own shapers. However, they weren't that precise. Thank you so much Belinda helping me create that wonderful soap.

At the beginning of pouring I divided my batter in 6 equal parts. They were colored and scented right before pouring. I used perfume oil that thickens up the batter really fast to prepare the first four layers. I didn't use any scent for the drop swirl part. I colored the 5th part blue and the 6th part white and poured the first blue layer. With the drop swirl I lighted the blue by adding white soap and poured the drop swirl (with an easy-pour container) to get an ombre drop swirl design for the sky. I was pretty happy that each bar turned out the way I wanted it to.

Thank you Amy for hosting the challenge and Tatiana Serko for her sponsoring. Great idea to combine those two techniques!

Good luck everyone and stay healthy everybody, take care,

Diane

(I hope to have more time this week to take some more photos)
