NEON In-the-Pot Swirl: Zig-Zag-Wave for the Soap Challenge

This is my entry for the soap challenge in December: This time the participants could make In-the-pot Swirls (ITP-Swirl) within two categories. In the regular category you could do a maximum of two pours and in the advanced category more than two pours. I made a Zig-Zag-Wave for the advanced category. It was my second attempt for a Zig-Zag-Wave but did many more soaps with ITP-Swirls in December trying something like a Cosmic Drop-Swirl ... I'll show you more pictures, soon (December is such a busy month).

Das ist meine Seife die ich im Dezember beim Soap Challenge Club von Amy Warden (gerade noch rechtzeitig) eingereicht habe. Dabei fällt sicher gleich auf, dass sich ein paar neue Farben in mein Repertoire gemischt haben: Mein Brambleberry Paket ist angekommen! Ich habe im Oktober beim Soap Challenge Club einen Gutschein gewonnen und habe die unten abgebildeten Micas bestellt. Der Soap Challenge Club unterstützt die Versandkosten von internationalen Teilnehmern sonst wäre ich wahrscheinlich nie zu meinen neuen Farben gekommen - Vielen Dank dafür!

Bevor giving more details on my soap entry, here a short story of something that made me really happy: My mail from Brambleberry had arrived :-) Since I won a coupon for Brambleberry I did order lots of micas. Thanks to Brambleberry for sponsoring the Soapchallenge Club as well as Amy Warden from the Soapchallenge Club for supporting the shipping costs! I'd never have this wonderful colors without you! 

The first soap with my new colors was something like a Zig-Zag-Wave but I didn't stop pouring and poured the waves parallel. 

Hier eine weitere Seife im Zig-Zag Design mit dem unterschied, dass sich nicht abgesetzt habe sondern den Seifenleim parallel gegossen habe.

The colors are really amazing, I have never had neon colors before. 

The  uploaded making-of video of my soap entry does only show the technique, I was in a hurry to get everything done before the deadline. Im Video ist das Making-of vom In-the-pot Swirl zu sehen, mit dem ich eine Zig-Zag-Wave gegossen habe. Da 10% dunkelstes Avocado Öl versiedet wurden habe ich die Seifenbasis gleich in einem wunderschönen Grün gefärbt (Apple Moss). Der weiße Seifenleim ist ziemlich angedickt, daher habe ich aufgehört ihn für die Zig-Zag-Wave zu verwenden und in eine kleinen Silikonform gegossen. Im Video ist noch eine weitere Seife zu sehen - ich habe im Dezember mehrere ITP-Swirls ausprobiert - zu meist in Kombination mit einem Drop-Swirl. I think swirls work best if all colors have the same consistency (but sometimes you can take advantage of a thicker color). Since the white batter thickened up I stopped using it for the Zig-Zag-Wave to not ruin my design. I poured it in a silicone mold later. Since I used avocado oil that made the soap batter green anyways I colored the base with this beautiful apple moss color :-) The other colors turned out so pretty considering that the base was quite green of the avocado oil as you can see on the video.

 ÖLE  40% Olivenöl, 20% Kokosöl, 10% Babassuöl, 10% Palmöl, 10% Avocadoöl, 6% Sheabutter und 4% Rizinusöl.
 LAUGE   20% Wasseranteil (in % der Öle), 6%ÜF/UL
 ZUSÄTZE  2% Zitronensäure& 1% Zucker in % der GFM
 DUFT  Ätherische Öle: Petitgrain, Litsea Cubeba, Blutorange
 FARBE  diverse Micas von Brambleberry

 OILS  40% olive oil, 20% coconut oil, 10% babassu oil, 10% palmoil, 10% avocado oil, 6% she abutter & 4% castor oil.

 LYE   41% lye concentration (20% water in percentage of oils), 6% superfat

 ADDITIVES  2% citric acid & 1% sugar (in percentage of oils)

 SCENT  essential oils: petit grain, litsea cubeba, blood orange

 COLOR   natural micas from nude, orange to brown, brown clay
